Preparation of the Creamy Shrimp Pasta

Creamy Shrimp Sauce

  1. Frist of all, start by mincing the garlic cloves into very tiny pieces.

Throw them in a saucepan with the Oil and fry them for a couple of minutes.

Then, add the defrosted shrimps and cook them with the garlic for 8 to 10 minutes.

  2. Once cooked, pour the white wine and stir for a couple of minutes letting the shrimps absorb the wine.

  3. Afterwards, pour the heavy cream and the ketchup and mix well.

Then, sprinkle the spices over the sauce: salt, nutmeg and chili pepper flakes. Mix them well and cover the saucepan. Leave them cooking gently for about 5 to 10 minutes or until the sauce becomes thick and dense.

Pasta

  1. Start the preparation of pasta by filling a large sauce pan with water.

Bring the water to a boil. Once you start seeing bubbles, add the salt and then the pasta.

  2. Cook for 10 minutes or follow the instructions written on the pasta pack. You can always taste the penne to check if they’re cooked correctly.

    Once done, drain the pasta.

Combining the sauce with the pasta

  1. Finally, add the creamy shrimp sauce to the drained pasta and serve it hot.

Advice

– In case you feel that the sauce has become thicker than it should be, you can add a ladle or 2 of pasta water.

– It is not advised to conserve the Creamy Shrimp Pasta as the penne tend to absorb all the sauce.
